The following files are self extracting into the Idec CLIP or CUBIQ format. These files are fairly small and usually take only a few seconds to download. After the file has been downloaded copy or move it into your CLIP, CUBIQ, or WINDLDR subdirectory to view or print them. If you are using Idec's new Windows based software, WINDLDR, then either the CLIP or CUBIQ format can be downloaded since both are compatible with WINDLDR. When converting from a CLIP file to WINDLDR be sure to configure CLIP for both Symbolic formats in System Settings from the CLIP Main Menu, open and save the file with the new settings before loading it into WINDLDR. The Text files can be opened with almost any word processing program such as Windows Notepad or Word if the file format is set to read a ".txt" file. If you want some others to be added please let us know. |

IDEC'S CLIP SOFTWARE HINTS |
| PLC/FUN SETTINGS |
- From the Main Menu select F3 - Ladder Program Menu. Select F4 - PLC/FUN Settings
- The proper PLC Driver needs to be selected which is the second item from the top in the PLC/FUN Settings screen. Press the Enter Key and use the left and right arrow keys to highlight the selection that matches the CPU that is going to be programmed. The Title Bar at the top of the Menu Screens indicates the PLC Driver that is selected. It is very important to match the correct driver to the PLC.
- When using an FA-1J, FA-2J, or an FA-3S PLC FUN 61 needs to be set to the ON State or to 500 when using a Hand Held Program Loader/PROM Burner. This frees up Input 0 so it can be used a standard input rather than controlling whether the PLC is in RUN or PROGRAM Mode. After selecting the correct PLC Driver go to the last selection on that screen which is FUN 61. Press F1 when the cursor is at FUN 61 to turn it on. The next time the program is downloaded to the PLC then FUN 61 will be configured in the PLC to allow Input 0 to be used as a standard input.
- Press the ESC Key to exit. Press Y or F1 to save the changes made to the Function Table. From the Ladder Program Menu select F2 - Ladder to Mnemonic Conversion. This compiles the PLC Ladder program into the PLC Boolean program that the PLC executes its instructions from. Press ESC or F5 to return to the Main Menu. Select F4 - Communication Menu. Select F3 - Program Transfer. Select F1 - PLC to Computer and press the ENTER Key through the prompts.
