PROGRAM LOADER/PROM BURNER

ALARM SIGNALS

1. The Idec Program Loader/PROM Burner, Part Number PF2-2H4RE-CBL, can be used to monitor the PLC program, change Data Register Setpoint values, and "burn" the EEPROM Memory Packs.

2. Each PLC program in this manual contains a set of instructions to use the Hand Held Program Loader/PROM Burner. The PLC communication parameters need to be returned to their default of 9600 Baud, 8 Data Bits, 1 Stop Bit and Even Parity by pressing the Pushbutton located inside the control panel, "When Using the Program Loader On-site".

3. To see what Unique Program Internal Relay is in use press the following keys on the Program Loader that are shown in bold type below depending on whether you are in a CEC, CEV or a Hut:

Refer to the Site List Section of the manual to determine what Program Name matches the Unique Program Internal Relay that is energized.
4. To Upload a PLC Program into the Program Loader press:

TRS READ ENTER

5. To read an EEPROM Memory Pack into the Program Loader, first unplug the cable so the Loader Display is blank. Remove the plastic cover in the upper right corner to expose the EEPROM Memory Pack socket. Insert an EEPROM Memory Pack, PFA-1M14U, into the socket. Connect the 3 foot cable to the PLC CPU which will power the Program Loader and press:

PROM READ ENTER

When the display reads, PROM READ END, the program that was in the EEPROM is now stored in the Hand Held Program Loader.

6. To "Burn" the EEPROM that is in the PLC CPU with the program that is now stored in the Program Loader, the PLC must be powered down first before removing the Memory Pack in the PLC CPU. Turn off the circuit breaker that powers the control panel. Remove the EEPROM from the PLC CPU by carefully prying it from the CPU using two small screwdrivers, large paper clips, or the Idec Memory Pack Removal Tool, PFA-1F21. Insert the Memory Pack into the Program Loader/PROM Burner socket. Power up the PLC which will power the Program Loader/PROM Burner when it is connected to the PLC and press the following keys to "Burn" the program that is in the Program Loader in to the EEPROM Memory Pack:
